Can Do high school students, Shaniqua and Jessica, talk about the impact of Can Do

How do you feel being a participant in the Can do program has benefited you? How will it benefit you in the future?

Shaniqua - The program has benefited me by letting me know that graduating from high school is very important, and it will benefit me in the future by giving me the opportunity to go to college.

Jessica - I feel proud to be a participant in the Can Do program. It has benefited because I know I have something to work for. It will benefit me in the future by keeping me motivated and proud to have had this opportunity.

What are some of the things you feel this program can do to help you be more successful in high school?

Shaniqua - Is to not let me give up and throw away my dreams of becoming a doctor.

Jessica -Provide tutors for us when were failing a subject.

Do you feel that the Can Do meetings we had last year have been beneficial? Why or why not?

Shaniqua - The meetings were beneficial because if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't have graduated from middle school.

Jessica -The meetings were beneficial because they gave me motivation and reminded me not to settle for less.

Do you believe it would have been beneficial to have met with members of the Can Do program during middle school?

Shaniqua - I don't know if it would have been more beneficial because were getting enough benefits already.

Jessica -Yes, I think it would have helped. Maybe I would have tried harder & not had to struggle to make it through middle school.
