The 5th Annual Can Do Walk &5K
Event: The
Can Do 4:13 Scholarship Fund’s two mile Can Do Walk & 5K will
be held in Peoria Heights on lovely Grandview Drive. This event is the
main fundraiser for the $1,000 Can Do Scholarships that Irving School fourth
graders have been awarded when they graduate from high school and transition
to post secondary institutions. Over 320 Irving students have received
the $1,000 Can Do Scholarship promise, due to generous contributions over
the last five school years. The first class of students is now entering
their freshmen year in the fall of 2007.
Registration: Walkers and runners can register on Sept.
1st at the event at Tower Park in Peoria Heights. Registration forms
are available at many Peoria area businesses; registration is $25 per
person, $50 for a family. Special rates for “teams” are available.
All contributions are welcome! All on-line registrations will receive
free Can Do t-shirts. Door prizes will be raffled, and prizes awarded
to the top runners in the 5K

9:00am at Tower Park, Peoria Heights, walk & 5K travel down lovely
Grandview Drive, Peoria.
Goal: The goal of the 5th annual Can Do Walk & Run
is to raise at least $25,000 in funds for the Can Do 4:13 Scholarship
Fund, through sponsorships and personal contributions. The Founder has
agreed to pay 100% of the expenses so that 100% of the contributions
can go to the Can Do Scholarship Fund.
Mission: The
mission of the Can Do 4:13 Scholarship Fund is to instill a "Can
Do" attitude in Irving School (Peoria, IL) fourth graders to stay
focused on graduating from high school so they can attend college or
a technical training institution. The hope is that the "Can Do
Kids" will graduate with job skills so that they may become positive,
driving forces within their families and community.
